Prime & Zoom Lens

Prime lens have fixed focal length, as opposed to zoom lens which is variable.
The main advantages of a prime lens are:
- Sharper (manufacturer can design lens specifically arround one focal length to make it the sharpest image possible.)
- Faster Aperture (even low cost lens can have apetures down to F1.4)
- Lower Cost
- More Portable (light weight lens, however you may need to carry more than one!)
and the Advantages of Zoom lens are:
- Versatility (range of shots can be WS to ECU)
- Ease of Use (no need to keep changing lens for each shot type)
- Specialty Shots (Zoom in/out)
